Sitting in 25 degree sunshine today we witnessed a sight to behold. Approximately 100 bikers dressed in Santa outfits drove around the Orihuela Costa area, popping into bars, restaurants, golf courses and club houses to collect money for a local orphanage.
It all started at La Luna bar and they had a bouncy castle, face painting and tee shirts for sale. Gifts were collected for the children.
Also on sale was paella made in three very large dishes, each looked to be about three feet in diameter. Everybody joined in to help, dressed in mini santa suits, listening to Slade, Wizard etc. singing all the regular Christmas tunes…
It felt rather surreal basking in the sunshine feeling the warmth on my face and a warm glow inside at the efforts to make the local children’s Christmas just a little bit better this year.
