Design and Tech Benefits for the modern day golfer.
The colour screen on the Sonocaddie V300 GPS gives overhead maps of every hole and can give distance readings from any point on the course. The unit can record locations for each shot and this information can be reviewed after the round which is a very good idea. Reference points and hazards can be updated or corrected immediately.
Golf4ualicante Verdict,
The overhead maps were clear and informative. The unit I used gave plenty of information and it was easy to download courses and set up ready for play.
There was a lot of reading from the guidebook needed in advance. A couple of hazards were incorrectly identified. Not Mac compatible.
A practical and lightweight device that has all the functions that you would need on the golf course, more than enough if you just want basic details. The overhead view was very useful.

The other half- Steven is a bit miffed.
He is a low handicap golfer and we moved to Spain to start a golf business which has not in all seriousness given much spare time to actually play competition golf,he hasn’t played tournament golf for 16 years.
He was over the moon to qualify in the final of the Ballantine Blue golf Tournament on 23rd October at Hacienda del Alamo with prizes advertised to the value of 50,000€. There was mention of a car, holidays and quality golf equipment looked like a great incentive to take part!.

There is much to be said for playing golf in the 21stCentury as golf balls have been developed beyond recognition since their introduction and have come a long way to make the game a bit easier.
The history bit….
The first balls specifically made for golf were made of wood, its doesn’t bear thinking about how painful that might have been with the jarring
pain shooting right up your arm.
In 1618 the feather golf ball which was cow or horse hide stuffed with goose feather was introduced with the original name ” featherie”
To this day the characteristics of this golf ball have made it the standard golf ball for more than two hundred years.
The practice of hammering the ball to give it an evenly dimpled shape helped give the ball to have a more consistent flight ,came about after the “gutte” ball made from dried sap of a Sapodilla Tree was invented as the defects made onto this ball once hit by the club actually assisted its flight.
