Its a load of Balls

There is much to be said for playing golf in the 21stCentury as golf balls have been developed beyond recognition since their introduction and have come a long way to make the game a bit easier.
The history bit….
The first balls specifically made for golf were made of wood,its doesn’t bear thinking about how painful that might have been with the jarring
pain shooting right up your arm.
In 1618 the feather golf ball which was cow or horse hide stuffed with goose feather was introduced with the original name ” featherie”
To this day the characteristics of this golf ball have made it the standard golf ball for more than two hundred years.
The practice of hammering the ball to give it an evenly dimpled shape helped give the ball to have a more consistent flight ,came about after the “gutte” ball made from dried sap of a Sapodilla Tree was invented as the defects made onto this ball once hit by the club actually assisted its flight.

Golfing Season 2010

Enquiries and bookings for 2010 have already started and some of our parties have been a little disappointed not to be able to get the tee times they would have preferred this early in the booking process. The indication is that next year there will be increasingly more golfers heading to our beautiful courses to enjoy reasonably priced golf under blue skies.

It’s Christmas!

We have just said “hasta pronto” to the last of our golfing parties for this year. Fortunately they enjoyed several warm and sunny days playing golf. The Christmas office parties have started and its quite surreal to see Christmas decorations and hear Christmas tunes by Slade and Wizard on the radio when it’s hot outside.
