The La Finca golf club lies in natural surroundings of great beauty and with fantastic views. Its facilities are open to those people who want to play golf in the heart of nature while being able to enjoy the beaches, sailing clubs and a host of other facilities and services just a few minutes away.
La Finca often hosts top tournaments and is a firm favourite of many golfers who come to this area. It has a great variety of superb greens of all shapes and sizes to test any golfer. The 7th green for example is the most unusual one I have come across it has a very large square shaped green with a huge bunker protecting the back of it. The course length from the white tees is 6,394 meters and the yellow tees 6,032 meters.
La Finca is in general kept in great condition throughout the year. The fairways, tees and greens are very well maintained all the year round as you would expect from a top class golf course like this one.
The Front nine has two long par fives and two tricky par threes to keep you on your toes. The 1st hole is a par 5 at 525 meters off the white tee and is a good opening hole.
The 1st tee is an elevated one and gives you a great view of the wide fairway lined with Olive tree's and ditch that runs across it . The 1st green is huge with long sweeping undulations towards the back of the green.
The 3rd hole is a par 3 at 168 metres, large bunker to the right side of a very long narrow green of about 60 paces wide.
The 5th hole is a cracking par 5 at 535 metres off the white tees. It's all downhill to a large green protected by water almost all the way round and to the back of this green. From the back of the 5th green there is cascading water falls all the way down passed the 6th tee and left hand side of the fairway round the front, back and left hand side of this short par 3.
The 6th at 179 metres is a fantastic par 3 and its a must to hit the green here.
The 7th is a long par 4 uphill at 434 metres with a slight dog leg to the right. The green here is square and looks like a bowling green at first sight. The only trouble at this hole is at the back of the green, with the biggest, deepest bunker I've ever (set of steps to get down into this bunker).
The 8th is a short downhill par four at 338 metres long, watch out for the cross ditch just short of the green.
The 9th is back up the hill to the club house and is 427 metres, its a wide straight hole lined with trees and there is a cross ditch to catch the drives.
Now for some of the back nine; the 10th has a slopping fairway to the right with an elevated large green, there is also a bunker within driving range in the middle of the fairway and also a very long flat bunker to the right hand side of the fairway up to the edge of he green.
The 11th is a par 5 at 490 metres long all down hill, out off bounds to the left and palm trees both sides of the fairway. The second shot here is a very challenging one, "do you go for the green?" or lay up short of the ditch and water feature, the choice is your's. Great golf hole.
The 12th is 375 metres and very straight forward good chance for a birdie. The 13th is a par 3 at 167 metres long.Water all the way down the right right hand side of the fairway and a large bunker to the left side of the green. The green its self is very long, narrow with sweeping slops from back to front.
The short par 3 16th at 162 metres is a great golf hole. There is a wide gorge from right to left with a bunker protecting the right side of the green. This green is a large two tiered one from back to front.
The 17th is 323 metres long and I think is the best hole on the course. All the way from the tee to the green there is a large lake.It takes a great drive to carry all the way to the putting surface. The fairway here goes round the lake to the right hand side, but you still have to hit your drive over part of the lake. For your second shot you must carry more water and miss the bunker to the right of this large green.
The 18th hole is a par 5 at 474 metres long all uphill to the club house. The fairway is lined with Olive trees both sides and there is a ditch with in driving range. To hit this green in two shots you must drive over the cross fairway ditch to get up to the green in two.
All in all this golf coures is a must for all levels of golfer when visiting the Costa Blanca.
