Located 13 km from Murcia, Mosa Trajectum has a 27 hole championship course (Stone, Pine & Olive Courses) as well as a par 3 (Challenge Course). The championship course runs through the resort, through a spectacular and challenging landscape with a variety of plants and trees, cacti, open rock faces and a multitude of water features.

Hole 1 Par 5, 471 Metres,
From the tee this opening hole plays as a dog leg to the right over large desert area. A long an accurate drive is required off the tee but the reward is an opportunity to go for the green in two. The approach to the green is uphill and there is out of bounds along the left side of this fairway , it's an ideal birdie chance.
Hole 2 Par 4, 387 Metres,
From the tee and with a stroke index of 1, two good shots are required to hit the green in regulation. With a prevailing wind a drive will need to be keep low but the main consideration is to hit the fairway. There is a long carry over wasteland to the fairway, with problems all down the left hand side. Point of reference is a tree in the middle of the fairway, anything to the left of the tree will be in the ideal position. A good tee shot should reward you with a comfortable second to the green but check the wind as this can come into play on this approach.
Hole 3 Par 3, 176 Metres,
From the tee this is a challenging hole. Off the tee, you will have to carry water all the way to an island green, surrounded by water on all sides. Club choice is crucial, as there is very little margin for error.
Hole 4 Par 4, 323 Metres,
From the tee the main consideration is to remain left of centre off the tee. A well placed drive to the corner of this dog leg right, will leave a medium to short iron approach uphill to an unguarded green.
Hole 5 Par 4, 297 Metres,
From the tee this short par 4 can tempt some golfers to go for the green. A well placed lay up, will leave a straight forward approach, however, with the fairway running down towards the green, a high draw or a straight drive over the dog leg bunkers can find the Green.
Hole 6 Par 4, 315 Metres,
This hole is a straight forward hole with a wide fairway and it plays as a dog leg to the right. Golfers with local knowledge maybe able to take on the green over the rocky waist land but it needs to be a good long hit, the percentage shot is down the middle avoiding any trouble and leave an easy approach to a largely unprotected green, this hole offers a good birdie chance.
Hole 7 Par 4, 355 Metres,
From the tee its your driver and the main consideration is to hug the left hand side of the fairway. Anything pushed right will leave a difficult approach onto this shallow dog leg left fairway. The main consideration on this hole is to avoid the well placed fairway bunkers.
Hole 8 Par 3, 166 Metres,
This hole looks very short from the tee but it plays about one club longer than it looks depending on the wind. Club up if there is a prevailing head wind to avoid dropping short and finding the large bunker in front of the green.
Hole 9 Par 5, 461 Metres,
From the tee accuracy is required as the fairway is very narrow. Your drive needs to carry a desert area and water plus avoid two well placed bunkers. The landing area is tight and placement rather than distance is the percentage play. Your second shot requires another accurate shot with water down the right and another well placed bunker to the left. A good position will leave an approach to a tiered green protected by water to the right. The ninth hole is a very narrow challenging par 5 from tee to green and you will need all your skills to make par at this one.
Now for the back nine, the Stone course is the most difficult of the three courses at Mosa Trajectum with almost every hole requiring at least one demanding shot to have a chance of making Par. Hitting any green in regulation requires excellent ball striking and club selection. Visually very appealing on the eye but equally a daunting prospect for high handicappers. Even mid handicap golfers will need to be on their game to survive the many challenging holes on the Stone Course at Mosa.
Hole 10 Par 4, 373 Metres,
This is a great par 4 dog leg to the right. You have two options from the tee, the safe play is down the middle but not to far left as there is out of bounds and Villas lining this hole on the left side. Second high risk option is to carry the water on the right from the tee this will leave you a very short second shot to the green and a good chance of a birdie. A good drive down the middle will leave you a 6 or 7 iron approach to a tight green. Watch out for the water down the right side, there is also a large bunker that covers the whole of the right side of this green and one pin high to the left. Pin position can be tricky, especially if cut on the right hand side. The green is slightly tiered so can be tricky to get down in two putts if your not close to the pin.
Hole 11 Par 5, 468 Metres,
From the tee this hole plays as a slight dog leg left with out of bounds, large rocks and cacti running down the left hand side of this fairway. This fairway is up hill and quite wide so place a good drive on the fairway and set your self up for the second shot. A long drive from the tee may tempt longer hitters to go for the green in two, however it's slightly uphill with a narrow target area and trouble if you go to long or left. The safe play is to lay up short with a mid to long iron which will leave a straightforward wedge to the pin.
Hole 12 Par 3, 126 Metres,
Now cross the road to the 12th tee, this is a good short hole and by far the easiest hole on the Stone course so make the most of it. Club selection is the important factor here. From the tee there is rocks and cacti all around, but the green is large and soft. There are now bunkers on this hole so if you miss the green you still have a good chance to get up and down to make par.
Hole 13 Par 4, 392 Metres
Now this is were the fun starts on the Stone course! The main consideration here from the tee is accuracy and then more of the same as you get closer to the green!. This fairway is narrow, lined with trees and out of bounds down the left, presenting a small target with hazards from the tee to the fairway, a fairway bunker to the right and difficult rough on both sides. Any player failing to find the fairway will struggle to find the green on this difficult par 4. The ideal placement is to be left of centre off the tee as anything right will have to carry the Water Hazard and hold the green from a tight angle. Even from a perfect drive position down the left hand side, players will have to play an excellent approach to the green, avoiding the Water Hazard to the right and the Bunker front left. The green its self slopes from front to back and also has large sweeping slops to make two putting more difficult, so a par at this one is a good score.
Hole 14 Par 5, 483 Metres,
This is a fantastic par 5, its long and straight from tee to green but don’t let this fool you, looks can be deserving. Standing on an elevated tee you can see there is a Roman wall to the right and out of bounds all the way to the green. To the left there are hundreds of cacti planted into a solid steep bank don’t go there. From the tee the main task here is to hit the fairway and miss a well placed bunker down the middle right side. This green really isn’t on in two shots so the safe play is hit a medium iron into a good position down the middle right side avoiding the deep steep bunker on the left side of the fairway, this will give you a look at the green. For your third shot there is danger every where as your approach is to a partially blind green, uphill and over a wide rocky gully. The green is quite large but requires a good approach to avoid three putts, one last thing don’t go long as there is a steep rocky bank at the back of this green.
Hole 15 Par 4, 397 Metres,
From this tee it your driver as between you and the fairway is a landscaped rock and cacti garden. It needs a good drive to clear all the trouble here as this is the most difficult hole on the Stone Course. It plays as a slight dog leg left and often plays shorter with a prevailing breeze, but into the breeze its a long hole all uphill. You have little choice from the tee but to hit a good long drive. Both sides of this wide fairway are lined with cacti and very hard ground and rocks, so play safe if need be. Once on the fairway it takes a good strike with a medium long iron to hit this green in regulation. Know your club distances to avoid falling short and catching the large front green side under, par here is a good score.
Hole 16 Par 4, 390 Metres,
This hole plays much shorter than its 390 metres would suggest, but don’t let this fool you as its still a very tough hole if you miss the fairway. Down the left side of the fairway you have big Villas and rough, also watch out for the long flat bunker adjacent to the left side just short of the large water hazard. Down the right side watch out for the cacti and towards the green also on the right there are planted shrubs. Your ideal tee shot is not to long and down the middle to give you the best angle of attack over the water and onto the green. The approach to this smaller narrow green is difficult, even from the ideal position good distance, control and accuracy are required to make Par.
Hole 17 Par 3, 165 Metres,
This is a straight short hole where club selection as usual at par three's makes all the difference. Avoid the water hazard along the left hand side which runs from about 75 metres off the tee to beyond the green. Anything short will be safe but the green is tiered and the pin position will often demand a good chip to save Par. The safe line from the tee is right side of the banked fairway, the ball should kick down onto the green. Anything long may find the bunker at the back of this large green.
Hole 18 Par 4, 380 Metres,
The final hole plays as a double deg leg left then right. A solid drive between the fairway bunkers is your first objective. Longer hitters will leave an easier but still very demanding approach but watch out for the cross ditch which can be seen from the tee. The best line from the tee is on the small tree in the middle of the fairway. The green is well protected by numerous bunkers along the left hand side and a very large water feature cut into the right side of this green. The main objective is to take enough club to carry over the front green side bunker and all the way to this large, long green. The approach looks tight from the fairway and so requires good club selection and accuracy to make your final par of the day.

In summary, the Stone Course contains some of the most technical holes in the region and is a very tough test, requiring plenty of concentration and application in order to play well. Popular with professional and low handicap golfers but it’s easy to see why the Olive and Pine Courses attract the majority of golfers playing Mosa Trajectum. One of the growing features of playing golf in Costa Blanca/Murcia area is that with each new golf course, visiting golfers are being treated to an increasingly diverse test of golf. Update on course condition: We played this golf course on the 13th of May 2010 and found although there have been much work carried out to this course it still needs a bit more care and attention to bring back to the standard we first enjoyed there in 2009.
The tees are fine and the greens very good but the fairways are patchy and untidy. This is a great pity as this golf course when in its tip top condition is one of the toughest in the area. I do think ,however that in another two or three months it will be back in great shape.

Quite a spectacular course this one with it's themed holes. Some of the tees shots had to be exact as the fairways were narrow. Go off line and you were amongst the Cacti which have a habit of causing some nasty injuries!(please see photo of walking wounded - Holywell Golf Club April 09 ) Apart from that I enjoyed this course on a very hot day. Marks out of 10/8

Played the pines course on 19th march 2009, what a pleasure to play on such a spectacular setting for a golf venue. The comparrison between the front and back nine was huge and a bit of a nice surprise.
Front nine was quite barren looking with very tight fairways and little scope for wayward shots , still we were always able to retrieve any misplaced balls so the scoring was very good and we were getting a little bit complacent and thinking the course was quite easy.
The back nine certainly changed our opinions very quickly.Every hole was like a landscaped garden with roman walls , palm trees , rockeries, fountains and water features lining each fairway from start to finnish. You need to get the thinking cap on and the concentration on high alert to avert all the stunning well placed hazards.beautiful course and highly recommended to all visiting golfers , one of the most stunning courses in the area.cheers, george,mo,jimmy
