September 2009

Welcome to the 13th edition of the Golf4uAlicante newsletter which we are sure you will find interesting and will hopefully encourage you to book your next golf trip with us.

The new golfing season started this month with some clubs such as Hacienda del Alamo deciding to keep their prices low through to the end of the year.

Savings
Many Polaris World courses have done the same to encourage more golfers to play there. Take a moment to look over our golf courses page.

Steven met eight golfers last week who had organised everything themselves and so consequently had paid more than our discounted prices at each golf courses they had booked. They had also used taxis to transport themselves from their hotel to the golf courses.

If only they had used our services they could have saved upwards of 5 Euros per game and at least a 100 Euros by using our services. Hopefully we will get the chance to be of service and save them some money on their next visit to the area!

Remember: If you get a quote elsewhere, please give us a chance to match or beat the quote as "you can trust us to deliver"- just check out our feedback from our previous clients.

Peraleja Golf Resort
We have eventually managed to visit the Seve Ballesteros designed Peraleja Golf Resort in Murcia. Wow, stunning! Steven will be playing there soon and will be writing an 18 hole review so watch this space. Caddy master price 90€, discount from us 32€ at 58€ saving you 35%.

Cars hire shortage at Alicante Airport
This summer there was a major shortage of rental cars not only at Alicante Airport but also in the Costa del Sol at Malaga Airport. This is an ironic result of the credit crunch. All the major car-hire companies relied in the past, on renewing their fleets on a buy and sell back arrangement with the car manufacturers. After six months the manufacturers would buy the cars back and sell them on.

However, this is no longer happening and the car rental companies consequently had much reduced fleets this summer as they cannot finance outright the purchase of new fleets. So there was a huge shortage Easter and Summer, ask us for a quote as you know we provide airport and golf transfers, saving one of your party having to drive everywhere!

At last! new clubhouse at Las Ramblas is open
It took a while, but the long awaited club house at Las Ramblas is now open to the public. Now the golfing fraternity can relax in luxurious surroundings enjoying  a few cold beers after a hard day on the fairways and greens. The difference between the old clubhouse is phenomenal. The small building which was once the place to gather after their game has been demolished and replaced with a multi million Euros sumptuous, relaxation area.

Great things planned for Mosa Trajectum
In recent months the fairways and greens at Mosa Trajectum have suffered from lack of water. The planned investment which may cause some temporary inconveniences for the golfers but in the long run will enhance all the 27 holes on the three courses at Mosa Trajectum- the Pine, Stone and Olive. Golf Equipment-news and updates
PGA rule change starts in 2010 for all new models of clubs, please read our recent blog posting for more information. Mizunohave pushed themselves to the limit yet again with the launch of four brand new models;the MX100, MX200, MP52 and MP62. These new models are replacing the exisiting MP and MX models.

The Mizuno's design wizards pulled out all the stops to give the golfer more feel with the club in hand.Mizuno’s research into feel pinpointed ‘vibration’ as one of the key human criteria for evaluating feel. Using a system of ‘Frequency Analysis’ Mizuno’s engineers established a pattern of vibrations that best communicated pure impact and set to enhance them within in each iron head.

Cost for clubs on airline
Airport Parking & Hotels (APH) has conducted a survey of the leading airlines to establish which are charging passengers exorbitant prices for golf baggage and which prove value for money The survey revealed that passengers flying with Air France could find themselves having to fork out an additional £134 just to take their clubs with them.

When it comes to the budget airlines, BMI seems to lead the way with a charge of just £15 each way. Ryanair charges £30 each way if booked online or £40 if booked at the airport or via its call centre, easyjet charges £18.50 pre-paid or £26 at the airport and Flybe £22.50 and only booked in advance.
