What a great start to May and it also look like continuing for the coming months.
Needlessly worried about grey skies our golfers have enjoyed some great weather and some great courses.
One of our contacts told us after a great time in Spain they went back to the UK to play golf having to wrap up warmly and play with their gloves on it was so cold.
Many of you have started getting quotes and making bookings for September onwards and we have been able to reserve preferred tee times for these groups at the moment. The odd occasion where we do have difficulty is when we do not get much of a lead time to book and some have been disappointed, therefore please remember if you wish certain tee times for your golf group please ask us as soon as you can.

We are also pleased to add a few more snapshots of some happy golfers check out Gallery 5.

Golf Courses
This May brought the better weather and the opportunity to give you some recent feedback from our golfers regarding the golf courses in the area.
Las Ramblas- fantastic condition, great challenges and the greens like a snooker table.
Campoamor- This is a course for which you must have a good strategy to play well and this may mean putting the driver away on many holes settling for positional play off the tee but leaving longer second shots to the greens.
Roda - Championship standard great choice definitely want to play there next year
Lo Romero - For the better standard of golfer you will be impressed by the surface of the greens which roll well but more importantly ‘takes’ a good iron shot without damaging the surface.
Villamartin - Much improved from before really enjoyed our day there.
La Finca - still a favourite of mine in superb condition.
Vistabella - You’ll find the course has an array of styled holes; dynamic greens, wide fairways, strategically situated raised bunkers and of course the large lake area, which will delight even the most expert players.11 hole course another 7 coming soon.
La Serena - Course in great condition then a free beer and tapas to finish.
Alicante,  in good condition six par 3, 6 par 4 and 6 par 5 holes seemed the easiest of the 4 courses
Villaitana, superb setting , open fairways as long as you stay out of the bunkers
El Plantio, It has been said that the course consists of six very good holes, six average holes and six holes that are perhaps a little weak. This actually makes the course ideal for all standards of golfer and offers a little for every one- in very good condition, some interesting holes needing some thought.
Mosa Trajectum- some major improvements from last year though still TLC & water required for the fairways.
a  new number 1?
A new World Number 1 this week?
With a win at Sawgrass this week Phil could become World #1. So do we have a changing of the guard in the world of golf? Rory's incredible 62 last week (when was the last time Tiger shot a final round like this), and the 58 by Ryo Ishikawa on the Japan tour. What do you think?

Woods poised to play in the Open

Tiger Woods will play in the Open at St Andrews in July if he recovers from the neck injury that forced him to withdraw from the Players Championship in May.

Costa hotels have lost millions and experts forecast a troublesome summer
RATHER than storm clouds gathering over the Costas this summer season, it is a cloud of another sort threatening to scupper any hopes the tourism sector had of recovering from a disastrous 2009 and of recuperating the failing British market.

Hurry up woman
TOKYO (AP)—Japanese golfer Yuko Mitsuka has pulled out of 11 tournaments after being handed a record fine for slow play.

The Ladies Professional Golfer’s Association of Japan fined the 25-year-old Mitsuka $21,500 on Tuesday after she quit midway through the first round of the World Ladies Championship last week in protest of a two-shot penalty she drew for slow play.

Mitsuka announced Wednesday she will withdraw from eight domestic tournaments and three overseas events. “This will be a lesson to other golfers,” JLPGA chief Hisako Higuchi said in Wednesday editions of the Nikkan Sports newspaper. “She has to take responsibility for her actions.”

 A celebration of Courage

Zimbabwean professional golfer Tony Johnstone knew all was not well when he started losing his memory and his coordination.
In 2003, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and told he would never play golf again. ut Johnstone signed up for a revolutionary drugs trial which has put the disease in remission. And at 53, he's just made his return to competitive action at the Zimbabwe Open. A poor first round put paid to his chances of winning it for a second time - but he was delighted to be in action.

Men are bigger liars than women, says poll

" I didn't have that much to drink" is a man's favourite lie
Men are more likely to tell lies than women and feel less guilty about it, says a survey.
In a poll of 3,000 people, researchers found that the average British man tells three lies every day, that's equivalent to 1,092 a year.

However the average woman appears more honest, lying 728 times a year - around twice a day.
Mums are the people mostly likely to be lied to, says the Science Museum who commissioned the survey.

Twenty-five per cent of men say they've lied to their mother, but only 20% of women admit to having lied to their mum.

In comparison, only 10% of people said they are likely to lie to their partner.

 MEN'S TOP 10 LIES
1. I didn't have that much to drink
2. Nothing's wrong, I'm fine
3. I had no signal
4. It wasn't that expensive
5. I'm on my way
6. I'm stuck in traffic
7. No, your bum doesn't look big in that
8. Sorry, I missed your call
9. You've lost weight
10. It's just what I've always wanted
Concerning the kind of lies we tell, men said that they most often lie to their partner about their drinking habits. "I didn't have that much to drink" is men's most popular fib.

Whereas women use the line, "Nothing's wrong, I'm fine" most often to hide their true feelings.

"It's just what I've always wanted" is the tenth most likely lie to be told to a loved one by either men or women, suggesting that men and women are quite discerning when it comes to buying presents for each other.

 WOMEN'S TOP 10 LIES
1. Nothing's wrong, I'm fine
2. I don't know where it is, I haven't touched it
3. It wasn't that expensive
4. I didn't have that much to drink
5. I've got a headache
6. It was in the sale
7. I'm on my way
8. Oh, I've had this ages
9. No, I didn't throw it away
10. It's just what I've always wanted
Women are most likely to feel guilty after telling a lie. Eighty-two per cent say it eats away at their conscience, compared to just 70% of men.

Is there such a thing as an acceptable lie? Eighty-four per cent of people think there is. Three quarters of those surveyed believe it's alright to fib if it's to save someone's feelings.

When it comes to the quality of the lie, 55% of Brits think women are the better liars, even though they tell fewer lies.

The survey found that 71% of people think it is fine to protect someone by telling a lie, and 57% would be happy to fib if they didn't like a gift they'd been given.

Katie Maggs, associate medical curator at the Science Museum, says the jury's out as to whether lying is a result of our genes, evolution or our upbringing.

"Lying may seem to be an unavoidable part of human nature but it's an important part of social interaction," she says.

See you next month!
