Costa Blanca beach award
BENIDORM'S Playa Levante has recouped the prestigious blue flag
award exactly one year after the environmental education
foundation stripped it of the award due to the quality of the
seawater.
The town now has a blue flag for all three of its beaches after
the foundation, which evaluates the quality of beaches all over
the world, ruled the water quality and services provided met its
strict criteria.
This year 11 beaches and two ports in the Marina Baja have been
awarded the coveted blue flags and form part of 48 beaches and
11 portsin Alicante Province that have made the grade.
At the same time as receiving the news the Levante beach had
recouped its blue flag, the council was awarded the regional
government's 'Q' for quality award, which was picked up by
beaches councillor Mariola Fluviá.

Golfing Humour
The Montana State Department of Fish and Wildlife is advising
golfers to take extra precautions and be on the alert for bears
while playing National Forests golf courses. They advise golfers
to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their
clothing to alert, but not startle the bears unexpectedly.
They also advise you to carry pepper spray in case of an encounter
with a bear.
It is also a good idea to watch for signs of bear
activity. Golfers should be able to recognize the difference
between black bear and grizzly bear droppings on the golf course.
Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly
squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have bells in them
and smell like pepper spray.
La Fuente Centre
Last night,Saturday 5th June we spent a very enjoyable evening
with friends who have a property at Campoamor Golf Course.
We had enjoyed a hot sunny day by the pool Steven had
played with our current golfers at Lo Romero and we were looking
forward to catching up with our friends.
We walked from their house to Crystals restaurant which we have
frequented several time and enjoyed a truly excellent meal.
20 euros per person including a bottle of wine between two.
Then we went to listen to friends of ours daughter sing in the
Stray Sod-To say the lead singer was good is an understatement
Scotland has talent!.
At 17 she has the quality of voice of a more experienced singer
and the music was enjoyed by all ,so when you are over try both
place out -I don't think you will be disappointed.
Sun Screen
It is a must when you come out to Spain in the blazing heat.
Unfortunately one of our golfers suffered terribly recently
lobster face and back of neck!
In the direct sunlight in June-September the temperature can be
in the high 40's please do not come without a hat or your suntan
lotion. I suggest you buy in UK maybe a 2 for 1 as it can be
quite expensive here in Spain.
Smoking ban looms
New New law announced to coincide with world non smoking day.
Last Tuesday the Health Minister of Spain, Trinidad Jimenez
declared that new restrictions will be brought in regarding
smoking in public places from 2011.

Putting tip
Putting is a Simple as 1-2-3-4 — Krista Dunton, PGA-Berkley Hall
To keep your mind quiet while you putt and to maintain a smooth
and even tempo try this 4 count tip. Once you have set up to the
ball, the last thing you should do is give a focused look of
visualising the ball going in the hole. Count to yourself
1. When your eyes come back to the ball count
2. Backstroke is 3 and forward swing is 4. All of these are done
on the same cadence and rhythm. You won't be able to think over
the ball or lose momentum.
The four count keeps an even pace and smoothness to your strike.

friends.
Cruises are available maximum of 10 to snorkel, swim, sunbathe,
sightsee and of course Fishing ( max 6) rods,
