 July 2010
Welcome to the 7th edition of 2010 Golf4uAlicante newsletter.

The weather here continues to rise as summer sets in and the prediction of temperatures in the high 40's in August seems very likely.
As there is not much golf going on in this heat we are sending an update on and around the Costa Blanca.

If you have asked for a quote, don't delay as once you have your flights booked you leave the rest to us!
We would like to thank everyone who chose Golf4uAlicante for their golf trip so far this year and hope to see you all back again in the future.

 Day trip to Valencia
We took a day trip with some friends and for only 16 euros from Punta Prima spent an very enjoyable day in this beautiful city.

Valencia has around a million inhabitants. They are predominantly from the city itself of from the close-lying villages and towns. There is also a large number of Spaniards from other parts of Spain.

Valencia has a totally stunning and compact old town centre, packed with gorgeous buildings, historic sights, squares, gardens, museums and charming little streets. It is a total delight to get lost in it and soak up the atmosphere. The Historic Centre bears the marks of 2000 years, in a spectacular mix of Roman, Muslim and Christian civilizations. We took the open top bus tour and hopped on and off as we explored the city.

 British Open St Andrews
The Open will be staged for the 150th time and will be watched by one of the biggest TV audiences in The World over the four days of fierce competition.

The Old Course at St Andrews has had some modifications for this year’s Championship, most notably to the world famous 17th The Road Hole. The tee has been moved back on slightly to the right for The Championship so that the hardest hole in golf will play as it was originally designed to.

The hole will play long and will require some imagination and almost any player in the field would take level par over the four days at this hole. Read more....
