Golf4uAlicante the truly comprehensive golf tour service on the Costa Blanca

March 2011
Welcome to the third month of Golf4ualicante newsletter 2011 with news and views from the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida.

Perhaps, we tempted fate last month regaling you of the unusually warm temperatures for February then March started pretty changeable, few days of rain but still fairly warm.

Despite the poorer weather , the golfers we did have here sent us some great comments regarding  the new course at Las Colinas - " We were really impressed with the courses, in particular Las Colinas ,which was superb " and " Las Colinas was the highlight of my golfing trip"  you can read more about it on our testimonial page.Take a quick look at our gallery page too.

The month of May is filling up fast and we urge that if you do plan to come out to Spain then
that you get in touch,so we can try and secure your preferred tee times.
If however you are undecided or have another quote and would like some more information from us , just ask OR if you have booked elsewhere simply let us know.

Often we can receive some last minute deals and there is no harm in getting in touch to find out.

Great News-We have been very fortunate to be in the Golf Monthly web site for February 2011. They kindly included an article promoting Golf4ualicante, if any of our golfers take a wee minute to click here to go to the web page and leave a comment about our company. Thanks in advance!

Spanish Airport proposed strikes
Stikes are planned to hit Spanish airports at Easter to cause maximum disruption. It's all around the

fact that the government is trying to sell off part of AENA, which controls the airports, and privatise

Madrid and Barcelona airports.

Please bear in mind these are just proposed dates and the view is that a solution will be reached soon.
UPDATE: Spanish Airport Strike List of Dates
The CCOO, UGT and USO Unions are proposing the following days for the airport workers' strikes:

20th, 21st, 24th, 25th and 30th April,
2nd, 14th, 15th, 19th and 20th May,
13th, 23rd, 30th June
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 15th and 31st July.
1st, 15th and 31st August.
Let us all hope than an amicable solution can be achieved and these proposed strikes do not materialise!

 Euro update
Summarising this article from our blog the news is that we appear financially as we were back in the position we were in November but it is reported that with the unrest in The Middle East, Spain may just be lucky enough to see an increase in holiday demand this year.
If so this will be a great help to an economy that is still fragile and who knows may just help to stimulate new interest in the housing sector. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Read more

We received this from one of our golfing buddies:-

Ten of the best Caddie remarks….
#10   Golfer: "Think I'm going to drown myself in the lake."
Caddy: "Think you can keep your head down that long?"
#9  Golfer: "I'd move heaven and earth to break 100 on this course."       Caddy: "Try heaven, you've

already moved most of the earth."
#8  Golfer: "Do you think my game is improving?"
Caddy: "Yes, you miss the ball much closer now."
#7  Golfer: "Do you think I can get there with a 5 iron?"
Caddy:  "Eventually."
#6  Golfer: "You've got to be the worst caddy in the world."
Caddy: "I don't think so, that would be too much of a coincidence."
#5  Golfer: "Please stop checking your watch all the time. It's too much of a distraction."
Caddy:  "It's not a watch - it's a compass."
#4  Golfer: "How do you like my game?"
Caddy: "Very good, but personally, I prefer golf."
#3  Golfer: "Do you think it's a sin to play on Sunday?
Caddy: "The way you play, it's a sin on any day."
#2  Golfer: "This is the worst course I've  ever played on."
Caddy: "This isn't the golf course. We left that an hour ago."
#1 Best Caddy  Comment:
Golfer: "That can't be my ball, it's too  old."
Caddy: "It's been a long time since we teed  off, si

Speed limit reduced
As of Monday 7th March, the speed limit on motorways has been reduced to 110km/h.
The move was announced last week as part of 20 approved measures to try and save energy as a precautionary measure due to the growing unrest in some of the world’s largest oil-producing countries.
